Kim Ventresco, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Education
New York University, M.S.W. 1981
Clark University, B.A. 1979
Kim has extensive experience working with children and adults with special needs and their families.
Early in her career, Kim worked as a school social worker and collaborated with parents, educators, and school administrators to identify and respond appropriately to the educational needs of children with disabilities. She has also supported parents, guardians, and/or trustees, by providing in-home care management visits to monitor the wellbeing of individuals with special needs and to support them with everyday challenges.
For over twenty years, Kim has worked in the capacity of a non-attorney advocate. She combines her clinical skills with her knowledge of special education law and educational practices to obtain appropriate services and supports for children. Kim also guides parents as their children transition from public school aged services to adult services, often assisting with guardianship petitions, and applications for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, the Division for Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), and the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
Kim empowers parents to become more effective advocates for their children, and helps ensure that necessary supports are in place to keep their children safe, happy, and productive.
